AM I PERMITTED TO EAT/DRINK BEFORE MY ADMISSION?
Your complete medical care is under the direction and supervision of your physician. Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before surgery. Do not smoke, chew gum, or eat mints. You may, however, brush your teeth the morning of the surgery, but do not swallow any water. Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before surgery.
SHOULD I BRING MY MEDICATIONS FROM HOME WITH ME?
Please do not bring medications from home to the hospital unless your physician has instructed you to do so. Patients should have a complete list of these medications, with frequency and dosages, available at admission.
SHOULD I TAKE MY DAILY MEDICATION ON THE DAY OF SURGERY?
You should consult your surgeon related to taking routine medication on the day of surgery. Some medicines should be taken, while others may be held.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Here is a list of items you will need at registration:
- Social Security Number
- All active insurance cards
- Picture ID
- Any paperwork given to you by your physician
- Living Will, Advance Directives, or Powers of Attorney, if applicable
- All information obtained during your visit will be held in strict confidence.
- We will ask you to sign appropriate consent and release forms that authorize hospital personnel to provide the services your physician has ordered for you.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT FOR SERVICES RENDERED?
You may pay by cash, check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I REPORT TO THE SURGERY CENTER?
We ask that you report to the surgery center at least 60 minutes before your scheduled procedure. This ensures that all paperwork will be properly taken care of.
WILL I HAVE LAB WORK DONE BEFORE MY PROCEDURE? IF SO, WHERE DO I GO?
Your complete medical care is under the direction and supervision of your physician. Most lab work has been completed before time of surgery or treatment. Your physician will inform you otherwise.
